Questions the sector asks

Straight answers

Do you work with both charities and social enterprises?

Yes — registered charities, CIOs, charitable companies, CICs and other social enterprises. We match our support to your structure, because a CIC and a registered charity have very different rulebooks.

How much does a charity or CIC accountant cost?

Fixed monthly packages from £39 + VAT for smaller organisations, scaling with size and complexity. FreeAgent is included in every package, and your exact price is agreed in writing first.

Can you prepare SORP accounts and do our independent examination?

We prepare charity accounts under the Charities SORP (FRS 102) and can act as your independent examiner where your income makes an examination (rather than a full audit) appropriate — and coordinate an audit where one is required.

Do you handle Gift Aid claims?

Yes — Gift Aid registration, claims (25p per £1 donated) and the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme, set up so you never leave eligible money with HMRC.

Does a CIC pay corporation tax?

Yes — this surprises a lot of founders. CICs are ordinary companies for tax and pay corporation tax on their profits (unlike registered charities, which are largely exempt). We make sure it's calculated and minimised properly.

Can you help us find grants?

Yes. Every client gets our Swoop-powered funding portal — mapping grants, social investment and community finance to your cause — plus our help getting your numbers funder-ready.

No jargon. No fluff.

Spend less time on compliance. More on the cause.
